The aim of the client days was to strengthen Sandvik’s brand image and relationship with its key clients. The two days in Turku consisted of a wide range of events and activities in three different locations: a welcome party the first evening at the Turku Castle, tours and machinery exhibition at the Sandvik Turku site the next day, followed by an afterparty at the Ruissalon Telakka restaurant. Almost 400 guests took part in all three events.

We planned and organised the activities in all three locations and assisted in ordering the transportation and receiving the international guests at the hotels and in the overall coordination of the day. We also produced textual and visual materials and, together with our partner Mama Creative, videos for the events. Mama Creative also created an after-movie that can be used for marketing purposes. Kuja Media was our technical partner for the events at the Sandvik site and Turku Castle.

An impressive set of events

With Sandvik, we started putting ideas together for the events in good time. Managing the transportation of 400 guests between airports, cities and locations within the cities required careful planning. At the hotels and venues, we ensured every guest felt welcome and well cared for.

At the Sandvik Turku site, we built an imposing venue almost from scratch with a handsome glass-walled pavilion and a large machinery exhibition. Setting up the display in the yard was an interesting challenge – a challenge we gladly took up with the Sandvik people. The pavilion was equipped with the necessary electricity and heating and was mounted by our partner Kataja Events. Since the event was outdoors, we also acquired portable toilets.

One of the main goals of the client days was to present the Sandvik Turku site, so it was vital that the event was informative and ran smoothly. We helped to plan and organise tours around the plant for 400 people. We also designed videos and their projection techniques for different presentation points around the facility.

Introducing the beautiful Turku to the guests

The events at the Turku Castle and Ruissalon Telakka restaurant added to the wonderful Turku experience for international guests. The cocktail party at the castle started with a welcoming speech by the Mayor of Turku Minna Arve. The historical surroundings offered the guests an imposing but relaxed and festive venue.

Afterparty at the Ruissalon Telakka finished the day with a flourish: a light show tailored to Sandvik and fine dining with Finnish ingredients. Pop kantele artist Ida Elina lifted the spirits with her performance, combining the traditional instrument kantele with contemporary hit music. The restaurant’s impressive decorations, e.g., a scoop manufactured by Sandvik, inspired the guests to use their cameras actively.

Focus on safety

Sandvik takes safety very seriously. Regarding the client days, it was our responsibility to ensure the event had a safety and emergency plan, but also to ensure that all our staff and subcontractors had a valid Occupational Safety Card.

The client days were a broad set of events that required a lot of coordination and several subcontractors. In two days in Turku, we offered three events in different locations, coordinated the transportation, and cared for the hotel guests. Our reliable partners assisted us, and with their help, we can always offer successful events for our clients.
